6th Grade Supplies:

As a public school, Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School supplies all regularly needed school supplies. However, for those students who do enjoy shopping for school supplies, listed below are the suggested and appropriate supplies.  These supplies are for History, English, Math, and Science.  Additional supplies may be suggested by your exploratory teacher once school starts.

THE BIG STUFF:

  • A backpack that will fit in your locker after you unload it every morning.  (No backpacks are allowed in classrooms.  Don’t buy a rolling backpack; they don’t fit in the lockers.)

  • A separate, small, padded laptop case to hold your laptop.  This will travel to class with you every day.  It should have a pocket to keep your power supply, pencil case, and headphones in.  Your power supply must ALWAYS travel to school with you!

Personal Supplies- LABEL EVERYTHING

  • 1 – 2” or 2 1/2” Binder with 7 pocket dividers OR an expanding pocket filed with at least 8 pockets.  DO NOT BUY AN “A” DAY AND “B” DAY BINDER; IT’S TOO EASY TO HAVE YOUR STUFF IN THE WRONG PLACE.

  • 1 – sturdy, zippered pencil pouch that will fit in your laptop case

  • 1 -- 70 page single-subject spiral notebook for Science

  • 1 --  120+ page spiral notebook for Math (3 subject, 5 subject, or two 70 page one subject books ok)

  • 2 -- black speckled composition books for Language Arts and History

  • 8 ˝” x 11” college-ruled notebook paper (Hint: buy a lot now while it’s on sale!)

  • #2 pencils,  NOT MECHANICAL

  • Erasers- Pencil toppers or large eraser

  • Blue or Black ballpoint pens for assignments; another colored ball-point pen for correcting (red, green, purple, etc)

  • Colored pencils AND washable markers

  • Highlighters

  • A small pencil sharpener with container to catch shavings (NOT battery operated)

  • A personal set of headphones to keep in your laptop case

  • Optional- Pencil grips

  • Optional- Locker shelf.  No Magnets.  No Stickers.

  • Optional- Gardening gloves (with your name on them)

Supplies to share in the classroom (to be divided between Mrs. Knecht and Ms. Lejeune)

Please bring these items to Boot Camp
