Volunteer
Calling All Volunteers! That sound you hear is opportunity knocking...
Listed below are committees looking for people just like you. Take a look. You might find something you’ve wanted to do your entire life ... and the PTSA at Las Colinas is offering that opportunity to you. But don’t just think about it. Send us an e-mail or give us a call to find out more about these volunteer positions, and then make plans to join us — on campus or off. Some of these positions can be accomplished at home, for those who work and would like to volunteer. Some of our busiest PTSA volunteers have full or part-time jobs. Please contact us at ptsalascolinas@yahoo.com to inquire.
CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION: Do you love to garden? If so, this is the committee for you. The Campus
Beautification committee works throughout the school year to keep Las Colinas beautiful by maintaining the
school planter boxes.
CAMPUS HAPPENINGS PHOTOGRAPHER: Is making lasting memories one of your passions? We are looking
for people who can take pictures throughout the year of all of the wonderful activities and events occurring on
campus. These pictures will be used in the Mustanger and in the yearbook. HOSPITALITY: During the year we have many opportunities to provide goodies to our staff. If you’re interested in helping to plan, donating food or supplies, helping with setup or cleanup, or have any questions regarding the Hospitality committee, contact us!
BOOK FAIR: Volunteering for the Las Colinas Book Fair is very rewarding and a ton of fun! Not only does it help
raise funds for our school, but it helps to foster good reading habits in our students here at Las Colinas.
Consider helping out at our “Reading is Out of this World” Book Fair this September 12 through 16.
Volunteers are needed to set-up/tear-down the fair and to staff the book fair shifts.
REFLECTIONS: This is an art recognition and achievement program. The students are invited to contribute origi-
nal works of art that support a specific theme. The contributions can be in the form of drawing, painting, music
composition, written composition, photography, etc. The Reflections Program provides your children with both
the opportunity for creative expression and with the opportunity to receive positive recognition for their original
works. Volunteers are needed to: copy/distribute flyers, organize entries and set-up and staff art gallery.
TAP: TAP stands for Teacher Assistance Program, and we could use your help during school hours making photo-
copies, laminating and performing other clerical tasks.
Got a passion you'd like to share? We want to here about it!
