FUNDRAISING
Some people have more time than money and some have more money than time. The good news is WE NEED BOTH. At La Mariposa we try to keep fundraising simple: two major fundraising events, a handful of community building events that we happen to make a profit on, and everyday ways La Mariposa gets a percentage of the money you spend, well, everyday... NO SELLING CANDY, WRAPPING PAPER, or MAGAZINES. No hounding your relatives and neighbors. Just simple fundraisers that make sense and make HIGH IMPACT LEARNING possible.

SPECIAL EVENTS
JOG-A-THON: This event raises 50% of our budget most years. It pays for all the nuts and bolts--Classroom and Teacher Money, Field Trips, Assemblies, and many of our school and PTA Programs.
DINNER/DANCE: This event raises $30,000-$40,000 per year and is typically earmarked for big ticket technology purchases, music, and PE programs.
FUN STUFF WITH A BONUS
MOVIE NIGHTS: We get a whole theater to ourselves and free popcorn--FUNdraising at its finest!
SPIRIT WEAR: Show your school spirit and look quite stylish at the same time.
BOOK FAIRS: We hold two week long events per year raising more than $3500 for our school.
EVERYDAY FUNDRAISING
Nearly 25% of PTA funds are raised by programs that require little or no additional effort from the parents. You just sign up and continue to do the things you already do.

Each year presents us with ways we can give back to our community.
