CineMagic

CineMagic, sponsored in cooperation between PVSD and the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation, is a performing arts program for students in 3rd through 8th grade. It is designed to build self-confidence while providing standards-based instruction in singing, dancing and acting. It  exposes children to the performing arts, theater traditions and music styles, that they might not otherwise be able to experience. The program culminates in a professional style spring performance held on a large community stage.

CineMagic is unique in many ways, for example:

  • It is a performing arts program that allows all students to participate regardless of skill.

  • It uncovers and develops talent while teaching important performing arts

  • new cinemagic theme

    instructional standards.

  • It supports a dual cast when needed - meaning some 200 kids can participate while each cast can spotlight featured performers or talents.

  • It has an extremely high level of parent involvement.

The first CineMagic performance, in 2001, was originally meant as a one-time activity. However, it was so successful that it uncovered a huge need for such a wonderful arts program that it is now offered annually.
