  • Register Now for Fall Enrichment Classes
    Did you know that La Mariposa offers fun enrichment classes three times during the school year?! Enrichment classes offer a way for your student to take a directed extracurricular class without having to leave the school grounds. Registration for the Fall session will be 9/15-10/1. Classes include: Academic Chess, Bricks4Kidz, Art, Soccer and Origami. Space is limited, so register early!

  • PVSD Youth Arts Academy 
    Classes for the 2014-2015 year of Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) Youth Arts Academy (YAA) have now been finalized. You can see view the YAA Brochure on the SOKM website. The classes being offered this fall are Beginning Band, Concert Band, The Off Beats, Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, Orchestra, Beginning Guitar, Art, and Ceramics. All classes except for Art and Ceramics will be held at the University Charter Middle School site, 700 Temple Ave. PVSD YAA classes are open to all 4th-8th grade students in Ventura County and are held after school one or two days a week, starting 9/29.

  • Kindergarten Lunch Helpers
    Parent volunteers are needed to assist kindergartners with learning the lunch routine, opening up packages for them and ensuring they know where to sit and what they need to do. Helpers are needed from 11:30AM - 11:50AM and 11:50AM- 12:10PM. Click here to sign-up to help. Please note: Once lunchtime is finished - Parent helpers can assist with walking students to class but should NOT stay in the classroom as to not disrupt activity and would need to return at 1PM to pick their child up. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Vision Screening Volunteers 
    Parent volunteers are needed to assist with vision screening at school on 9/30 - 10/2 from 8:30am- 2:30pm, in 2 hour shifts. Click here for more information and to sign-up to help.

  • "Jungle Jog" Jog-A-Thon
    Our 13th annual "Jungle Jog" Jog-A-Thon is October 10th, 2014. This is one of our main fundraisers that fund our PTA programs and purchase technology that our school's budget cannot. THANK YOU to the following businesses and families for starting our 2014-15 school year with a RUMBLE & ROAR by SPONSORING La Mariposa kids!

  • Campus Supervisors Needed
    Your school needs you! Campus Supervisors relieve teachers of supervising children at designated times, thus contributing significantly to the effectiveness of the total educational program. Click here to learn more about becoming a campus supervisor.

  • Reflections: "The world would be a better place if..." 
    Unleash your child's creative talents! Encourage them to create an entry for the 2014-15 PTA Reflections Art Contest. This year's them is: "The World Would Be A Better Place If..." Your child can submit up to 3 entries in 6 six different categories: Photography, Visual Arts, Literature, Video Production, Music Composition, & Dance Choreography.  Entries are due 10/17.  Click here for more information.

    Whether it's volunteering behind the scenes for a special event or program or leading the charge, there are opportunities to volunteer for everyone.   • Coastal Cleanup Day, 9/20
    Take part in the upcoming 30th Anniversary of California Coastal Cleanup Day event! Volunteers will remove debris from the coast, creeks, rivers, lakes and shorelines all around California protecting wildlife from harm while taking care of our environment. There are two cleanup locations in Camarillo: Calleguas Creek: Creekside Rd. at Paseo Del Campo; Meet at bottom of slope at entrance to creek bottom; and Mission Oaks Park Barranca: Meet in the parking lot of park located on Mission Oaks Blvd. at Oak Canyon Road.   • Coffee with the Principal

    Each month our principal will host an informal discussion meeting with parents and community members.  This is an open meeting where she will share information on topical issues.
