  • Register Now for Fall Enrichment Classes
    Did you know that La Mariposa offers fun enrichment classes three times during the school year?! Enrichment classes offer a way for your student to take a directed extracurricular class without having to leave the school grounds. Registration for the Fall session will be 9/15-10/1. Space is limited, so register early!  Classes include: Academic Chess, Art, and Origami (As of 9/18 Soccer has 3 spaces left; Bricks4Kidz is FULL)

  • PVSD Youth Arts Academy 
    Classes for the 2014-2015 year of Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) Youth Arts Academy (YAA) have now been finalized. You can see view the YAA Brochure on the SOKM website. The classes being offered this fall are Beginning Band, Concert Band, The Off Beats, Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, Orchestra, Beginning Guitar, Art, and Ceramics. All classes except for Art and Ceramics will be held at the University Charter Middle School site, 700 Temple Ave. PVSD YAA classes are open to all 4th-8th grade students in Ventura County and are held after school one or two days a week, starting 9/29.

  • PVSD Wellness Meetings for the 2014-15 School Year
    The Pleasant Valley School District is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle for our students. To send the right message and to help our students make good choices, teachers, staff, parents, and students can all work together. Our Wellness Committee will again be meeting this year and anyone interested is encouraged to attend. The meetings will be held at the Pleasant Valley School District office at 600 Temple Ave.  They will begin at 11 a.m. on the following dates: 10/9/14, 12/11/14, 2/12/15, 4/9/15.

  • Kindergarten Lunch Helpers
    Parent volunteers are needed to assist kindergartners with learning the lunch routine, opening up packages for them and ensuring they know where to sit and what they need to do. Click here to sign-up to help.

  • Vision Screening Volunteers 
    Parent volunteers are needed to assist with vision screening at school on 9/30 - 10/2 from 8:30am- 2:30pm, in 2 hour shifts. Click here for more information and to sign-up to help.

  • "Jungle Jog" Jog-A-Thon
    Our 13th annual "Jungle Jog" Jog-A-Thon is Friday, October 10th, 2014. This is one of our main fundraisers that fund our PTA programs and purchase technology for our children to enhance learning at school. Get the whole family involved by having them make a pledge for your student! JAT Donation Envelopes went home with your student that will help you track and submit your donations! Click here to download and print a PDF copy of the envelope. There are prizes to be had!   • Campus Supervisors Needed

  • Reflections: "The world would be a better place if..." 
    Unleash your child's creative talents! Encourage them to create an entry for the 2014-15 PTA Reflections Art Contest. This year's them is: "The World Would Be A Better Place If..." Your child can submit up to 3 entries in 6 six different categories: Photography, Visual Arts, Literature, Video Production, Music Composition, & Dance Choreography.  Entries are due 10/17.  Click here for more information.

    Whether it's volunteering behind the scenes for a special event or program or leading the charge, there are opportunities to volunteer for everyone.   • Coffee with the Principal

    Each month our principal will host an informal discussion meeting with parents and community members.  This is an open meeting where she will share information on topical issues.
