  • running           100 Mile Challenge & Fitness Fridays       running

At the beginning of the 2017-18 school year Mr. Holtke personally challenged every K5 student to run or walk one-hundred miles during their recess / lunch periods over the course of the school year. Students are recognized with bronze, silver and gold medals for reaching milestones of 25, 50 and 75 miles. Students that complete the 100 Mile Challenge are awarded a technical running t-shirt as “bragging rights” for completing Mr. Holtke’s challenge. To date, 200+ PVSEA students are actively participating in the challenge.

To capitalize on the running movement at PVSEA, “Fitness Fridays” were created where Mr. Holtke run with all interested K8 students during their lunch periods on Fridays. Put on those running shoes and athletic apparel and join him.

  • Coffee with the Principal

Coffee with the Principal is an extension of my “open door policy” and is an opportunity to improve upon the dissemination of school information. This informal forum is a parent’s opportunity to have PVSEA related questions and concerns discussed by me. Coffee with the Principal will be held the last Friday of every other month from 8:20-9:20AM and will begin October 27, 2017. All questions MUST be emailed to with the words “Coffee with the Principal” in the subject line prior to the Monday before the Coffee date.
