    Halloween Parade

The annual Halloween Parade will be Tuesday, October 31st (9:30-10:00). All K8 students will be encouraged to dress-up on this day, yet costumes must be appropriate for school. NO weapons of ANY kind may accompany a costume. NO excessive gore (costumes MUST be appropriate for all ages that we serve at PVSEA). Full face masks may ONLY be worn during the Halloween parade. Students that do not dress-up will not walk in the parade. Students are encouraged to bring a change of clothes to change into after the parade so that distractions are at a minimum and costumes do not get damaged throughout the remainder of the day. Parents encouraged to attend the parade and celebrate with us!

Are you struggling with ways to support your student at home with our new math adoption? Would you like to experience a grade level lesson taught in the same format as taught to your student? Have you heard your student use terms or discuss tools/models such as: arrays, base ten blocks & bundles, number bonds, number lines, number path/towers, place value charts, tape diagrams, ten frames, or number disks and want to learn more? Then we have a learning experience for you! In an effort to provide our students with the greatest level of support possible, PVSEA, Dos Caminos and Las Posas Elementary Schools will host a series of parent education opportunities. The first of the series: SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD WITH EUREKA MATH PARENT TOOLS. Please plan to attend this event: Wednesday, October 25th, 8:30-9:30AM, Las Posas Elementary School, 75 Calle La Guerra, Camarillo 93010.

  •  coffee Coffee with the Principal is an extension of my “open door policy” and is an opportunity to improve upon the dissemination of school information. This informal forum is a parent’s opportunity to have PVSEA related questions and concerns discussed by me. Coffee with the Principal will be held the last Friday of every other month from 8:20-9:20AM and will begin October 27, 2017. All questions MUST be emailed to tholtke@pvsd.k12.ca.us with the words “Coffee with the Principal” in the subject line prior to the Monday before the Coffee date. Questions not received prior to the Monday before the Coffee with the Principal date will be discussed at the next regularly scheduled meeting date.

  • we need you  Research has demonstrated that parental involvement is a key factor in student success.  It's also a great opportunity to have a voice at your school.  We need parents to participate in PTA, School Site Council and our English Language Learner Parent Council.  Contact tholtke@pvsd.k12.ca.us for  more information.

  • school supplies    As a public school, PVSEA provides all regularly needed school supplies. However, it is always very apparent that the students enjoy going "shopping" for school supplies and then having their own pencil, etc. In light of this, we have compiled a "Suggested School Supply List" by grade levels. The items on this list are items that are regularly used in the respective classroom. Additional items specific to each classroom will be available from your child's teacher. SUPPLY LISTS
