  • ATTENTION FUTURE SRTMS FAMILIES

If you are considering enrolling in SRTMS, we will have a night tour of the school on January 24 at 6:30 pm.  This tour is for parents that cannot attend the day tour that happens every third Tuesday of the month.  We hope that you can join us for this informative night!

Also, for those prospective new families who would like to see more of the daily classroom routine than the regular school tour provides, we are allowing a very small number of parents to quietly observe classrooms.  This observation time will happen on January 24 from 9:00-9:30 am.  Space is extremely limited and advanced reservations are required.  Please contact the school office at (805) 491-3822 to reserve your space - once you see what happens at SRTMS, you won’t want to go anywhere else.

  • QUARTERLY FINANCIAL REPORT

Check It Out As we come to the end of the first trimester, it’s time to look at the Donation account once more. In an effort to ensure transparency, we want the community to know where money donated to the PTO is being spent. Please read the Quarterly Financial Report – Winter 2017 to see how your money benefits all students at SRTMS.

  • BASKETBALL COACH NEEDED!

SRTMS is in need of a boys’ basketball coach for our middle school basketball team.  The team competes in the Camarillo Independent Sports League (CISL).  The time commitment would be three to four hours a week, depending on practice and game schedules.  If you are interested, please let Mr. Borchard know ASAP.  We would like to have tryouts right after winter break, and there are a number of pieces of paperwork that must be completed before the season starts.

  • NEW TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS FOR SRTMS

The staff has been working hard to refresh our technology standards.  We have completed them, and want to make every parent aware of our new standards at each grade level.  Our goal is to increase student achievement by redefining our technology standards at each grade level and by having our students strive to meet those standards.  We hope the increased technology proficiency will lead to deeper learning and higher achievement.

    • It was a collaborative process where the teachers worked together to create SRTMS technology standards for each grade level.
    • Teachers worked back from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards to update our standards.
    • These standards are what all stakeholders can expect our students to be proficient in at the end of the academic year.
    • We will use these standards to create the guideline for a TK-5 technology portfolio and a 6-8 grade capstone technology project that will start in the fall of 2018.

    TK/Kindergarten Standards

    1st Grade Standards

    2nd Grade Standards

    3rd Grade Standards

    4th Grade Standards

    5th Grade Standards

    Middle School Standards

  • PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE CLASSROOMS

Due to numerous student allergies, ALL SRTMS classrooms are “peanut/tree nut free zones”. NO peanut/tree nut products are allowed in the classrooms, including any foods processed in a facility that also processes nuts. NO EXCEPTIONS. All food products brought to the SRTMS campus (example: parties, teacher luncheons, sports banquets) MUST be approved by the classroom teacher or office staff. Students may enjoy peanut/tree nut products in their snacks and lunches, yet precautions will be taught to all students to minimize cross contamination. All questions or concerns are to be directed to the Health Office.
